Colour & Cross
Pip’s faith has been central to the entire project and this is expressed on the neck label with the embossed Hugenot cross.
The Hugenots were a small group of Protestant Reformers in the 16th century, some of whom fled France for South Africa and planted the first vineyards in Franschoek.
Whilst the Calvinistic doctrine has not necessarily filtered down, the importance of hope and prayer certainly has and Pip is regularly found walking amongst the vines in prayer.
The colour originally came from a loved scarf that Pip wears but it also represents many of the family’s favourite places on earth.
