“It’s hard to imagine a more luxuriant and splendid treat than a glass of Wiston Estate Sparkling Rosé 2014 with your roast turkey this year - especially if you’re ladling on the cranberry sauce! This fabulous fizz has now had the perfect amount of time in bottle to evolve into a spectacular balance of Wiston’s hallmark finesse and vitality along with richer and more complex savoury nuances that are spot on to crown your Christmas table in 2020.” Olly Smith, November 2020
"This is a blend of two-thirds Pinot Noir, the rest split between Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay. Two-thirds of the base wine is neutral-oak fermented and lees-aged for eight months for structure and texture. This is followed up by around four years on bottle lees. It has a pinkish, onion-skin hue and aromas of honey, strawberry ice-cream and cinnamon. The sweet, ripe attack evokes clove-infused strawberries, mandarin zest, baked lemons and roasted almonds in a wine that is concentrated and complex. The fine, filigree mousse holds its form and freshness throughout." Sally Easton MW, Decanter June 2020
"Exceptional English fizz. Winemaker Dermot Sugrue (who I'm dubbing 'The Wiston Piston') here crafts the one to win all hearts with."
Olly Smith, Event Magazine February 2018
"Evocative redcurrant notes play on the nose. They become more intense on the palate where lively fizz lets them mix with lemon and pink grapefruit zestiness. This wine is lively and fresh but the exuberant surface is supported by a firm and taut structure of subtle autolysis that provides the perfect backdrop for all the tart, refreshing berry fruit. It offers freshness, joy and verve in one tidy, neat package. Lovely now, it will develop."
Anne Krebiehl MW, Wine Enthusiast December 2017
“One of my all-time favourite English Sparkling Wines, it doesn’t get much better than this. There’s ripe notes of peaches, raspberries and a dollop of cream that make me want to re-visit time and time again.”
Adrian Smith, The Independent February 2018
“A wine clearly at ease with itself, displaying beautiful balance and a vinous nose, delicate and understated. The finish is surprisingly long, longer than the mid-palate suggests, displaying gentle fruit, elegance and finesse.”
Richard Bampfield MW
“Soaring and bright as a pink meteorite, a twist of spice and a savoury flourish round out this fine fizz of superlative character.” Olly Smith, Three Wine Men November 2019
"For a rosé absolutely packed full of character and charm, this 2014 vintage Wiston Estate from renowned winemaker Dermot Sugrue, is a surefire hit. It’s made of predominantly red grapes, with a little Chardonnay, and is immensely food-friendly. The Wiston Rosé tempts you in with alluring pink salmon hues and aromas of spiced winter berries and orange peel. To taste, it's the striking depth of this wine that stands out. It's so captivating: ripe cherry and raspberry with a real 'fruits of the forest' richness and distinctive winter spice notes."
