Wiston Rosé NV Case

Wiston Rosé NV Case

Price: £177.00

Blend: 40% Pinot Noir, 30% Chardonnay, 30% Pinot Meunier

Wiston Rosé NV captures the essence of summer, with fragrant notes of rhubarb, raspberry, strawberry, redcurrant, wild roses, lemon zest and a touch of sherbet on the finish. Underlying all of this is a backbone of crushed oyster shells, which reflects the pure chalk terroir where the vines are grown. Awarded a Gold Medal in the WineGB Awards 2019, it is a superbly elegant English Sparkling wine with tiny, persistent bubbles and a refreshing acidity that makes one go back for more.

This is a joyous warm-weather fizz striking just the right balance between accessibility and interest. Its perfumed nose hints at summer fruits (redcurrants and raspberry) before a creamy, textured palate adds gravitas." Hamish Anderson, The Telegraph

"Lovely vibrant fruit character with a rhubarb sort of element to it. Full of flavour and generosity - proper rosé with good concentration and purity. Good length, loads of potential - excellent." Richard Hemming MW, Purple Pages of JancisRobinson.com

"One thing that’s become clear is that what England does very well is sparkling rosé. Who’d have thought it? There are so many good ones, and Wiston’s tight, energetic style is particularly good. Wiston produces a vintage as well as a non-vintage sparkling rosé. This is the cheaper non-vintage version and it’s a beauty – lively and berry-scented." Victoria Moore, The Telegraph February 2019

"Rhubarb, hibiscus and tart red currant paint a fruity picture on the nose. A second sniff reveals a good measure of Red Delicious apple. The mousse is creamy and transports wave upon wave of those vivacious apple and hibiscus notes, all backed with an autolytic backdrop reminiscent of freshly baked short crust. This is creamy, joyful and sophisticated with a fine, persistent foam and a long, delectable finish." Anne Krebiehl MW, Wine Enthusiast November 2019

"Wiston’s cheeky, early-drinking rosé manages to gather gravitas and palate depth while not overstepping the mark on weight or power. This is very clever indeed. Dermot Sugrue is the wizard behind (or, more often, in front of) the scene." Matthew Jukes, Vineyard Magazine October 2019
