This version of our single vineyard wine from 2014 shows elegant characteristics of marzipan, baked apples and a touch of white pepper on the nose. The poised palate consists of rich buttery notes, apricot and vanilla, with a flash of salinity on the bright finish. This is a pure wine which moves across the palate with commanding grace.

This is a unique expression of our Blanc de Noirs 2014 – showing a different slant on this stunning vintage. The winemaking team disgorged this small Library Collection parcel with a very low dosage, making it ‘Extra Brut’, and the result is fascinating  and delicious!

The 2014 vintage made the case for creating a Blanc de Noir from the excellent quality Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier from our Findon Park vineyard. The two red grape varieties were co-pressed and fermented in a mixture of five and six year old Burgundy oak barrels with selected yeasts. The barrels did not impart oak flavour due to their age, but promoted a gentle micro-oxygenation, which refines the mouthfeel and structure of the wine on the palate. Thanks to the ideal ripeness of the 2014 vintage, malolactic fermentation was blocked, leaving the wine with natural malic ‘energy’. This not only brought verve and focus to the blend, but also gives the wine fantastic ageing potential. It was bottled in July 2015.
