With enticing notes of fragrant English orchard fruits, white chocolate, nougat, toasted hazelnuts and brioche, Wiston Estate’s Cuvée 2009 shows impressive depth and complexity, whilst retaining Wiston’s signature precision and elegance. Made from a blend of 60% Chardonnay, 30% Pinot Noir and 10% Pinot Meunier, this wine displays a delightful creaminess on the finish and is drinking beautifully now, yet also has great ageing potential.
We are over the moon that this latest release of our signature Cuvée has received a Gold Outstanding Medal in The International Wine & Spirit Competition 2018 for a remarkable second year running (following on from our previous release, Cuvée 2013). It has also been awarded a Gold Medal in The Drinks Business Global Sparkling Masters 2018.
“Softly scented freshness has hints of lemon zest and ripe yellow apple. On the palate, these flavors unfold and are joined by a well of creamy depth that lends another dimension to freshness and fruit. This echoes with richness and aromatic complexity: stone, earth, yeast and citrus create layers of flavor and expression. Savor this, and let it happen to you. The finish is seemingly endless. Lovely now, certain to develop. Drink 2018–2028.” Anne Krebiehl MW, Wine Enthusiast October 2018
“Lovely well integrated and persistent creamy mousse. Excellent aromas of brioche and hazelnut nose showing lovely combination of autolysis and bottle age. Palate has an impressive weight of fruit. Incredibly balanced structure leading to an endless finish, and will continue to age.” International Wine & Spirit Competition 2018
