DISCOVER THE STORY OF OUR VINEYARDS
Experience the Gold Medal-winning Tour & Tasting at Wiston Estate, celebrated as Experience of the Year 2023/24 at the Beautiful South Awards! Perfect for all seasons, our tour is winter-friendly, fully undercover, and fully accessible, so you can enjoy it anytime throughout the year.
Set within Wiston Estate’s 6,000 acres on the South Downs, our vineyards benefit from ideal grape-growing conditions. The tour begins at North Farm in our newly refurbished winery, which is wheelchair accessible with nearby parking.
Guests will discover the fascinating story of the estate and learn about the surrounding vineyards before exploring the winery itself. See the traditional Champagne Coquard press, the tank and barrel halls, and finish with a tutored tasting of our award-winning Wiston wines in the new tasting room.
Afterwards, guests are welcome to wander the vineyards, relax in the courtyard and Chalk restaurant, or explore the stunning South Downs countryside for a scenic walk around the estate.

Excellent wine tour with interesting explanation of why vines work so well on the downland chalk, the links of the family to the land and visit to the winery to see one of the few champagne presses in the UK. Overall an enjoyable and interesting tour which I would highly recommend to anyone. One friend said best English wine tour she had been on. Well worth the cost of the tour!
Great tour and tasting. Very informative about English sparkling wine growing in Sussex. We sampled four Wiston sparkling wines and all were wonderful. Very nice facility, modern and well maintained
My partner and I have just experienced the wine tasting tour with Elaine. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and learning about the history of the Goring family and how the vineyard has grown from a farm estate was very interesting. The wines are delicious and we came away with 3 bottles to further enjoy. Elaine was very good at answering any questions the group had and encouraged the group to discuss their tasting experience. A wonderful experience and can’t recommend enough

- How long is the tour and what does it cost?
The tour lasts 1.5 hours including a talk and tour of the winery and tasting of four wines.
- How regular are the tours?
The Wiston Tour & Tasting operates on: Weds 11am / Thurs 2.30pm / Fri 11am & 2.30pm / Sat 11am & 2.30pm / Sun 11am.
The Vintage Tour & Tasting operates on: Weds 2.30pm / Thurs 11am / Sun 2.30pm.
- What do I wear?
The tour is indoors in the winter months so can operate whatever the weather! In the summer months we walk to the vines if the weather allows – so sensible shoes are recommended.
- Do you cater to larger groups?

- Accessibility?
The tour is fully accessible to wheelchairs with lifts and easy access toilets.

- Please note this tour is not available for anyone under 18 years of age.
- Payment for Tours is due at the time of booking. Cancellations made more than 48 hours prior to your reservation will be fully refunded. Cancellations made less than 48 hours prior to your reservation will not be refunded.
- If you are running more than 15 minutes late please email us on [email protected] as we run tours at set times and therefore may have to move you to a later tour if you’re unable to make your reserved time.
