It’s our favourite time of year – the grape harvest! Our Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier vines have been working hard throughout the growing season under the expert care of our Vineyard Team. Now it’s time to bring in the fruit and let the Winemaking Team get to work.
Our Harvest Days start at 9.00am with a briefing and hot drinks to get us underway. Then we’ll head into the vineyard and get picking, with coffee and tea breaks throughout the day and a hearty lunch to keep everyone fuelled. We’ll finish around 4.00pm after a rewarding day in the vines – with a glass of Wiston of course!
Please note: Slightly earlier finish time on Friday due to Sundowner Tour
Please be aware:
- Grape picking is physical activity involving plenty of bending, lifting and being on your feet outdoors for most of the day. Please do not book if this type of activity is not suitable for you.
- If the weather takes a significant turn for the worse, the day may need to be cancelled. Please check your emails the day before for any updates.
- These days are very popular, so please only book if you fully intend to attend.
- We will be harvesting in the main Wiston Vineyard, located off the southbound A24 between Findon and Washington. This is a different location from Chalk, the Cellar Door and the Winery. Detailed directions will be sent to attendees closer to the time.
As a thank you for your efforts, all pickers will receive a bottle of Wiston Brut NV to take home at the end of the day. Over 18s only.
What time does the day start & finish?
Harvest Days begin at 9am with a briefing and usually finish at around 4pm. Please note that on Friday, the day will finish slightly earlier, at approximately 3pm, to allow preparations for our Sundowner Tour later that afternoon.
How physically demanding is grape picking?
Grape picking involves bending, lifting and spending most of the day on your feet outdoors. Please only book if you are comfortable undertaking this level of physical activity.
What should I wear?
Please wear practical outdoor clothing suitable for the weather, including sturdy footwear. We recommend dressing in layers and bringing waterproofs if rain is forecast.
What happens if the weather is bad?
If the weather takes a significant turn for the worse, the harvest day may need to be cancelled. We will contact you by email with any updates, so please check your inbox the day before your booking.
Where does the harvest take place?
The harvest takes place in the main Wiston Findon Park Vineyard, located off the southbound A24 between Findon and Washington. This is not the same location as Chalk, the Cellar Door or the Winery. Directions will be sent closer to the date.
Is lunch provided?

Can you cater for dietary requirements?
Please let us know about any dietary requirements when booking. While we will do our best to accommodate requests, we may not be able to cater for all requirements.
Will I receive anything for taking part?
Yes. As a thank you for your efforts, you’ll receive a bottle of Wiston Brut NV to take home at the end of the day. This is available to guests aged 18 and over only.
Can I bring friends or family members who haven’t booked?
Due to the nature of the event and limited capacity, all attendees must have a confirmed booking.
What should I bring with me?
We recommend bringing a reusable water bottle, weather-appropriate clothing and plenty of enthusiasm for a day in the vineyard.
Are there toilet facilities available?
Yes. Toilet facilities are available on site in our Wine Barn, which is located close to the harvest area.
Is parking available?
Yes. Free parking is available at the vineyard. Full directions and arrival details will be sent to attendees closer to the time.
Will there be photography or filming?
By attending, you consent to photography and videography, which may be used for Wiston Estate marketing and promotional purposes.
