ROCK FARM
Rock Farm is a 6-acre therapeutic growing project and a conservation food forest. It is a market garden, a supportive community for vulnerable people, a place of innovation, inspiration and transformation. At Rock Farm volunteers grow organic fruit and vegetables for markets in Sussex and facilitate therapeutic sessions for a wide range of vulnerable groups.
DAYLANDS FARM
Daylands Farm is a conservation-focussed farm where we source produce for Chalk Restaurant. They farm about 120 Acres on the estate, and have been here for 37 years. The farm is ideal for conservation as the fields and wooded areas are small, with many hedgerows and a lake dug for wildlife. Daylands is ideal for study, for walks, foraging and camping.
LORICA TRUST
Lorica obtained the lease for East Clayton Farm in 2004. The first stage of development at East Clayton involved converting the farm outbuildings into individual living units for 8 young adults with 24/7 care needs. The farmhouse was turned into flats for 5 people moving on from homelessness. These facilities are now well established and thriving.
MAKING IT OUT
Making It Out is a charity who work with people in need of structured occupational support to help them get their life back on track. Their primary focus is on people who are moving on from prison, homelessness or addiction. They have taken on one of the estates 16th Century barns to to develop – providing the opportunity to work on a large collaborative projects.
IN OUR HANDS
In Our Hands is a community driven project, with volunteers and participants having a clear voice in how the project is shaped. Taught and facilitated by women and non-binary people, In Our Hands offers affordable courses in basic carpentry, woodwork, DIY and building skills for women and all other marginalised gender identities
STEYNING DOWNLAND SCHEME
The Steyning Downland Scheme was launched in 2007 when the Goring family decided to set aside 67 hectares (165 acres) of the Wiston Estate in the South Downs National Park for the benefit of the community, the land and its wildlife. SDS reconnect local people from all walks of life to this unique piece of downland, benefiting their mind, body and spirit.
HOLOS
Holos is a small-batch kombucha brewer with a social purpose. The business was born from a desire, as long-time kombucha fans, to drink quality, all-natural kombucha and to make a positive impact in the world. Holos means wholeness. In body, mind and spirit. A bottle of Holos kombucha is not only a gut-loving, low-sugar soft drink with award-winning taste.
THE JUST IRONING COMPANY
The Just Ironing Company are based at North Farm, just across the way from our winery. The Just Ironing Company prides itself on offering a first class service with a friendly and approachable style. They provide a weekly, fortnightly, monthly or ‘one-off’ laundry/ironing service, offering maximum flexibility to suit all your laundry needs.
THE BICYCLE EXCHANGE
The Bicycle Exchange has been created to help people in and around the Sussex area to have access to quality bicycles at affordable prices. Their second-hand bikes have been fully health-checked and serviced will really open up the options to cyclists looking for their next ride. Now based at next to the winery at the foot of the South Downs!
