Introducing Wiston Estate's Library Collection
Ever since our first vintage in 2008, we have been holding back small parcels of our favourite wines to revisit and enjoy in the future.
These wines have been allowed the luxury of more time to age on both their lees and on cork, to evolve into something wholly different and exciting. We are delighted to announce the forthcoming release of the first wine from our Library Collection – our Blanc de Blancs 2010. The Library Collection presents a series of limited-edition releases from our cellar which celebrate the wines’ ability to age. These are a series of unique wines which showcase the quality which English Sparkling Wines can achieve. Since the release of our first Cuvée from the 2008 vintage we have held back small parcels from the best vintages to allow them to further mature and develop. The additional ageing in our cellars imparts wonderful depth and complexity to the wines, bringing richness, intensity, and a wonderfully long finish.
The extended time before release has given the wines layers of evolved aroma and flavour such as truffle, honey, baked apricots, toasted brioche and crème caramel which, paired with the trademark refreshing acidity of our wines, makes for a delicious combination. 2010 was a benchmark year at Wiston: a vintage of ideal balance between yield & ripeness of fruit, which produced stunningly complex and elegant wines. Our single vineyard, single vintage, single variety (100% Chardonnay) Blanc de Blancs has layers of honey, truffle, lemon zest, Danish pastry and crushed oyster shells, with a sublime finish that goes on and on.
